Randall J. Gibbons

Randall has loved writing since he was a small child, and he would make up stories to entertain his friends using some of the tales his grandfather shared with him. As he grew older, his passion for stories turned into writing historical accounts of his hometown in Northern California’s gold country, which fascinated him. His college report on the interesting history of a famous local gold mine, based on the story told to him by the son of the mine’s manager, was one of his most memorable pieces of writing. He was told about large strands of gold that were found hanging from the roof of a mine tunnel. Eventually, the mine tunnel was hollowed out into a huge room called the Bridal Chamber that could fit a whole house. He was so proud of getting an “A” on that report; it made him love studying history and writing even more. Later, while caring for his terminally ill father, Randall found solace in writing poetry. As a result of years of personal problems, such as being sexually abused as a small child and the stress of being raised in a broken home, he found a way to express his deepest feelings. He began to deal with his past by writing poetry, and the words helped him heal and find meaning in his life. He knows now this was given by Divine Inspiration for “such a time as this.”
Randall was born on July 1, 1946, and his life had a very strange beginning. Although his mother had been in labor for almost 40 hours, doctors told his father that he would have to choose between saving his wife and his unborn child. His deeply religious father, who had just returned from serving in World War II, refused to accept this decision without seeking divine guidance. He felt compelled to seek a second opinion after a long time of prayer. The Lord answered his prayer, and a skilled surgeon was able to safely deliver both mother and child.
He was very interested in mechanical things from a very young age and would often take apart broken things he found after school in the dumpster to try and figure out how they worked. This same inquisitive nature later defined his approach to studying Scripture. Every time he encountered a Bible passage without a clear meaning, he would ask himself, “Why is this verse included in the Bible, and what deeper truth does it hold?” This relentless search for meaning led him to find remarkable insights, revealed particularly in the prophecies of Daniel.
Randall’s life took many twists and turns, including a period of great financial success in the real estate business after years as a motorcycle mechanic. At one point, he and his first wife, whom he had met in the 6th grade, owned 26 acres of land with breathtaking views of Mt. Shasta, where they planned to build their dream home. Randall, however, made a fateful decision against his wife’s wishes and bought a bar instead of pursuing their home project. The disintegration of his marriage, the depletion of his wealth, and, finally, his homelessness were all consequences of this foolish decision, but it did bring about his eventual salvation when he was nearly 40 years old.
As he struggled to rebuild his life after losing his wife to divorce, Randall found himself searching for something deeper than financial success and something that could restore his sense of purpose. It was during this period of uncertainty that he attended his sister’s large church in Central California, where a single sermon changed his life forever. The pastor preparing to preach on the book of Joshua addressed the congregation and said, “Maybe some of you are struggling with making the Lord Jesus Christ the true Lord of your life.” Randall felt an overwhelming sense of conviction in that very instant. He realized that although he had been a believer since he was a small child, he had never truly surrendered his life to God. He began to shake and weep, being under deep conviction that it was time to make a decisive commitment. On January 5, 1986, a few weeks after closing the bar and handing the keys to the owner, he told his mother and sister that he needed a Bible, as he wanted to find out what God had in store for him. That was the turning point in his life’s quest for biblical truth and one that would shape the entire trajectory of his life.
Randall’s in-depth study of Scripture led him to an opportunity to teach the book of Daniel at a small independent Baptist church in Idaho between 1989 and 1990. Teaching the Book of Daniel over the course of a whole year was a turning point in his life; it ignited his passion to find out the hidden meaning of these prophecies. One particular question fascinated him: the timeline of Daniel’s 70 Weeks and why the final 70th Week remained a “hidden” mystery. A major revelation came during a visit to his mother’s home when he asked his sister if there was a local synagogue where he could learn more about the Hebrew calendar. She directed him to a nearby synagogue, where a Rabbi introduced him to a transformative book, “The Comprehensive Hebrew Calendar” by Arthur Spier. Based on this finding, he went on to discover another important resource, E.W. Bullinger’s Companion Bible, which contained a section on the “Lo Ammi Years,” from the Book of Hosea, a concept referring to missing years in the Jewish calendar that even now, the Jews would deny ever happened. Bullinger had calculated some missing years, but Randall’s research led him even further. After years of study, he identified that exactly 323 years are missing and confirmed in the Book of Acts, which is equal to 17 cycles of 19 years each. This realization was the key to correctly identifying those cryptic numbers shown in Daniel 8:13-14 and Daniel 9, and lastly at the end of Daniel 12, which outlines the prophecy of the 70 Weeks and the timing of the last 7 years of the prophecy and when it will occur.
There had been no solid explanation for keeping this information hidden for more than 2000 years, until now, except for the declaration by the angel in Daniel 12:10, where he declares that … “the wise shall understand” (the solution to the prophecy). Randall firmly believes that the time of unsealing has arrived, and this revelation is crucial for both believers and non-believers alike. Randall thinks that people need to understand the divine plan set out in the Bible more than ever because we are on the edge of eternity. The 70th Week of Daniel holds the key to understanding the end of the times, and his work serves as a bridge between ancient prophecy and modern revelation.
As part of the Live Stream Congregation of Jacob’s Tent Fellowship in Cleveland, Tennessee, under the leadership of Bill Cloud, Randall and his wife remain dedicated to studying and sharing God’s prophetic truths. Their faith and commitment to scripture continue to shape their mission, encouraging others to seek wisdom, truth, and spiritual discernment in these critical times.
His 40 years of tireless research, study, and divine inspiration have finally come together in his upcoming book, “It’s About Time…The Unsealing of the 70th Week of Daniel.” This work challenges long-held interpretations and brings clarity to one of the most complex biblical prophecies.
